Applications Architect

Partsearch Technologies is undertaking a significant re-architecture and rewrite of its core technology platform, evolving from a 2-tier ASP.Net 1.1 web architecture with add on Java based applications to an N-tiered, web services-based enterprise architecture. We are seeking an experienced application architect with a proven track record in the design and implementation of commercially robust N-tiered applications. This will be a highly visible, senior, hands-on position in a challenging and collaborative environment. We are looking for a person who is not only technically astute and accomplished, but is eager to mentor, and be part of, a dedicated development team which possesses deep domain expertise in our business and our client’s needs. Attitude, energy, reliability, and communication skills are just as important as technical experience and track record.

Key Job Elements:

  • Establish, evangelize, document, and maintain overall Enterprise Application Architecture and ensure that it can support future operational and business requirements including scalability for projected increases in transaction volume, number and types of clients, anticipated new functionality, and complexity of data.
  • Help define and maintain effective and efficient development processes, including but not limited to: coding standards, design philosophy, testing methodology, usage of design patterns, UI standards, development and coding tools and procedures.
  • Analyze and understand architectural and performance bottlenecks in the existing system and devise solutions and implementation plans to avoid them going forward.
  • Understanding and implementation experience of Enterprise Java and Apache development stacks within the n tier SOA Framework.

Qualifications:

  • Strong multi-disciplinary knowledge, skills and experience in software architecture and design, distributed application architecture and design, distributed architecture frameworks, n-tier architecture creation with expert knowledge of Microsoft's .Net framework and working knowledge of a mixed environment with Enterprise Java and an Apache Open Source Stack.
  • Expert knowledge of building a high volume Services Oriented Web based application.
  • Expert knowledge within a mixed use environment consisting of C#, ASP.NET, (.NET Framework 2.0),ADO, and XML, as well as in-depth knowledge of web-based technologies (AJAX, XSLT, JavaScript, DHTML, etc.), Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, WSE), and Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) including Enterprise Service BUS concepts.
  • Deep understanding and use of UML, design patterns, model driven-, object oriented- and test driven- design principles, process frameworks, sequence diagrams and component interaction diagrams.
  • Outstanding problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must demonstrate positive interpersonal and teamwork skills and be able to work and influence diverse people and teams. Should be comfortable acting as a technical and "best practices" mentor to colleagues, as well as being able to communicate in "layman's" terms to a more business-centric audience.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent is required

C# Senior Software Engineer

The Software Engineer will play a critical role as a member of our Applications Development team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced .NET/C# developer who will become a key member of our exciting next generation data services platform.

Key Job Elements:

  • Design and model applications for high performance in a real-time environment
  • Create and maintain engineering documents and specifications in accordance with Partsearch architectural guidelines
  • Build prototypes as needed to illustrate proof of concept and test new engineering approaches and technologies
  • Participate in code reviews and quality assurance testing
  • Effectively communicate with business users and technical staff to insure business process requirements and architectural decisions are formally documented and implemented in accordance with engineering guidelines

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years hands-on .NET development experience using C#, ADO.NET, and ASP.NET
  • Strong object oriented design, relational model design, and problem solving skills
  • Experience creating Web Services in .NET
  • Experience in documenting systems using UML, flow charts, diagrams, etc
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills
  • Experience developing systems for high transaction or large dataset environments
  • Experience with SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, Web Services, and NUnit are pluses

Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role as a member of our Technology team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Analyst who will become a key member of our exciting next generation data services platform team. The ideal candidate will have worked on major software projects and understand major SDLC project positioning by a Business Analyst.

The business analyst has the primary responsibility to gather, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders (including clients and business users). The business analyst is part of the technology team and serves as the conduit between the business managers and the software development team. Our business analyst is involved at some level throughout the entire system or software development life cycle. Once the requirements are established, the focus is shifted towards managing the requirements specification and verifying they are fulfilled, all within an agile framework.

Key Job Elements:

  • Develop business process documentation with business and technology teams in support of B2B, B2C, and CRM applications
  • Ability to multi-task among new Business Process Design efforts, along with the capacity to respond immediately to production/maintenance issues
  • Excellent writing skills; must pay extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills: listening, understanding, negotiating, skills between business & IT; can lead discussions with business users, clients, designers/developers, data architecture, senior management
  • Work with the product and project managers to document the product vision and scope
  • Identify project stakeholders and user classes. Document user class characteristics. Identify appropriate representatives for each user class and negotiate their responsibilities.
  • Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints
  • Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language, diagrams and scenarios
  • Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements.
  • Work with product and project managers in requirements prioritization
  • Manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools
  • Establish, document and implement effective requirements practices within agile environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant role, preferably a high volume Web application or software as a service
  • Experience with Web Services Specifications involving third party developers highly desirable
  • Experience in an Agile SDLC
  • An understanding of requirements gathering, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice
  • Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed
  • Exposure to any of the following would be a plus: Internet Retail, CRM, Supply Chain, Service Industry, CRP Industry, Reporting Products
  • Experience with Use Cases/Work Flows is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team player
  • Undergrad degree required, Masters in business preferred

Vendor Relations Specialist

This position is needed to help increase and manage our business. We are seeking a highly analytical and motivated person who is driven to succeed and willing to learn. In this role, you will be asked to join and support our Vendor Relations team by tracking, analyzing and optimizing day to day logistics operations between our company and our suppliers. We have very aggressive goals so we want you to have the drive to succeed and outperform the requirements for this role.

Key Job Elements:

  • Managing orders, analyzing order volume and our supplier’s performance
  • Research and report on volume trends, service metrics and make recommendations to increase our service levels and revenue
  • Screen potential vendors by gathering information off of websites, contacting them and preparing analysis for review
  • Manage performance and shipments costs for all carriers
  • Communicating with our internal teams as well as your assigned vendors in a clear, professional manner
  • Prepare a backorder summary 3 times a week for all of your vendors. You must be familiar with all the products we are not able to source and suggest alternatives for satisfying the customer demand.
  • Support Vendor Relations team on any overflow issues from other team members

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years related experience preferred, however strong graduates will be considered
  • Strong ability to multi-task

  • Good communications skills both written and verbal

  • Very comfortable with Excel (Access a plus), Word and Outlook.
