Howard Lee Morgan
Howard Morgan, Ph.D., was a founding investor, and is on the Board of Directors of Idealab . Since 1989, Dr. Morgan has served as President of Arca Group, Inc., a consulting and investment management firm specializing in computer and communications technologies. He serves on a number of public and private company boards.
From 1972 through 1986, Dr. Morgan was a professor of decision sciences at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a professor of computer science at the Moore School of the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Dr. Morgan was a founding editor of the ACM Transactions on Database Systems Journal, and was a database researcher for many years. Dr. Morgan received his Ph.D. in operations research from Cornell University, and his B.S. in Physics from the City University of New York.
Lowell Peters
Lowell Peters has dedicated his career to all facets of the Services industry. His career spans over forty years, primarily with Sears, Roebuck and Co., and Best Buy. Lowell currently provides consulting services to the Services Industry, specializing in the Retail Sector. His involvement in the Services Industry includes membership in the Association of Field Service Managers International (AFSMI).
Lowell was Senior Vice President of Services at Best Buy. In that position he was responsible for all of the Installation and Services provided in support of the customer. He and his team developed a services organization to Support Best Buys needs, with a focus on future growth. Lowell was Vice President of Parts and Technical Support at Sears. Vendor relations, parts purchases, distribution and parts sales was a major part of the responsibilities. The management of the parts business was changed to a model of owning less inventory and moving needed inventory quickly to the technician or the customer.
James W. Schubauer II
James W. Schubauer II has over 15 years of experience in private equity investing and investment banking. Mr. Schubauer was a partner of First Atlantic Capital, a private equity fund dedicated to growth capital investments and leveraged buyouts. From 1994 through 1996, Mr. Schubauer was a partner of Rosecliff, Inc., a private equity investment firm targeting middle-market growth capital financings and management buyouts. Previously, Mr. Schubauer was a member of CS First Boston's Mergers and Acquisitions Groups in London as well as New York, and a member of Morgan Stanley's Mergers and Acquisitions Department in New York.
Michael A. G. Korengold
Michael A. G. Korengold serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Enhanced Capital, a national investment firm consisting of ten state-focused venture funds. He serves on the firm's investment committees as well as the investment committee for the Enhanced Equity Fund, a related private equity fund of which Enhanced Capital is a member. Prior to becoming President and CEO, Mr. Korengold served as the Company's Sr. Vice President and General Counsel where he handled the company's various legal matters including government relations and corporate compliance issues.
Prior to joining Enhanced Capital, Mr. Korengold practiced law for seven years in Minneapolis and New Orleans, with an emphasis on mergers & acquisitions and financing transactions. Mr. Korengold has lectured extensively on capital formation programs, and has testified before numerous state legislatures and other governmental institutions on related issues. Mr. Korengold also has served on the boards of numerous civic, community and charitable organizations. Mr. Korengold is a 1986 graduate of Vassar College and a 1993 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School where he graduated Order of the Coif (highest honors).
Nadim Marc Barakat
Nadim Barakat is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Asset Management division, based in New York. He has responsibility for managing a number of separate accounts within the CS Private Equity Customized Fund Investment Group, and is part of a team that manages private equity fund investments and co-investments. Mr. Barakat joined Credit Suisse First Boston in November 2000 through the merger with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he was a Vice President of DLJ Merchant Banking in the Customized Fund Investment Group.
Prior to joining DLJ, Mr. Barakat was a member of the Bank of Kuwait's private equity group focused on direct investments, co-investments and fund investments. Prior to that, Mr. Barakat worked at Chase Securities in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance departments, focused on the business services, consumer goods and manufacturing sectors. Mr. Barakat holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Virginia.
